Real Madrid and Germany midfielder Toni Kroos has announced he will retire from professional football following the conclusion of the 2022-23 season. The 33-year-old has been a key player for both club and country, winning numerous titles and individual awards.
Kroos joined Real Madrid from Bayern Munich in 2014 and has since won five Champions League titles, three La Liga titles, and two Copa del Rey titles. He has also been named to the FIFA FIFPro World XI three times.
Kroos made his debut for the German national team in 2010 and has since earned over 100 caps. He was a member of the team that won the 2014 World Cup and was named the man of the match in the final.
